vidIP’s IPI-120 provides a powerful and flexible IP video toolbox for broadcaster and telecom operators to handle stream duplication, routing, format changing and transport QoS enhancement (error correction).
IPI-120 is part of the powerful and network cost-squeezing product line provided by vidIP. These products are designed for real-time video and audio contribution and transport applications over any type of IP network. IPI-120 provides a complete IP to IP toolbox for stream duplication, routing and processing.
For example, the IPI-120 can sit at the edge or in the network core. If IPI-120 sits at the edge, it can be used to normalize existing IP video streams, add QoS enhancement mechanisms to them and transport them safely to the other end of the network, to be delivered as they were at the source point especially by canceling network impairment effects. Alternatively, if IPI-120 sits in the core of the network, it will be used for massive stream handling, providing format changing, stream duplication and routing, dejittering, encryption and decryption, etc…
Thanks to the groundbreaking technologies provided by vidIP, this product allows existing IP streams that are usually too weak to be carried over unreliable IP networks, to be carried and handled, strengthening and carrying them safely over WAN networks, including the Internet.
Like the other products in vidIP's product line, this equipment is built on the same core technology. This involves an IP video softswitch factory allowing duplication of multiple input streams to multiple output streams. This component also allows protocol turnaround (UDP, RTP, Multicast, Unicast), error correction mechanisms (FEC COP3 or packet retransmission), encryption and decryption, as well as jitter cancellation mechanisms and latency adaptation mechanisms. In addition, it allows multiple stream input duplication and routing to multiple outputs. All these processes are provided with minimal delays, usually < 100ms.
